Years ago, I began clipping my keys onto my pant belt loop because they were ripping the pocket section of my jeans. But this solution lasted only so long, because the keys soon began shredding through the pant belt loops.

The pants that inspired the Belt Loop Armor

At the time, I was in love with a certain leather bag company and was spending way too much time and money on their products. I thought I should get into leathercrafting to make my own leather goods and while at it, come up with a solution to the shredded pant belt loop.

So I went off to Youtube to learn the tools and skills of leatherworking. Besides a wallet I made for myself, the first leather good I made was the Belt Loop Armor. 

The belt loop onto its way to breaking off, thanks to my keys.

I loved the results. Clipping the keys onto the Belt Loop Armor felt just like clipping them onto my pant belt loop - only it was stronger, more durable, and felt much more secure.

Around the same time, I began to see the benefits of always having a multi-tool on me. But I didn't want to it carry in my pocket. From there, Get Set Gear Holsters with built-in Belt Loop Armor was born.
